june 1-15, 2021 i went to the hospital, the psychiatric unit for severe depression and [endangerment of self]... the penultimate day in that unit, i played basketball, exercising for the first time in 6 months, and felt great. shoutout to my man Jason...i'd never been so exhausted playing 1-on-1 to only 5 points in my life...

flash further back: the first movement of this song i recorded with Kev Brown on MLK Day in 2020—driving to Kev’s place i would find out that my insurance for whatever reason didn’t take my payment and so i would end up fording through the first wave of 2020’s pandemic with no health insurance…

in the distant future from that day, some time in the haze of February/March 2020 i was walking from my therapy appointment to Atomic Music in Beltsville. As i crossed the crosswalk adjacent to the Costco parking lot, some dickhead tried to force me out of the PEDESTRIAN right of way with his car, beeping me and basically almost running me over. when i eventually safely reached Atomic, i found the specific keyboard heard on this track and wrote the theme for this movement entitled “Dicks of Destruction”. fuck that guy that tried to hit me with his car! lolol smfh…
